Our Surface Water & Catchments Group delivers a wide range of hydrology, hydraulics, and water resource projects, as well as provides specialized water-related services to a diverse client base. Our South Queensland Team is seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer – Technical Director to be based in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, or Toowoomba. This exciting role involves providing technical leadership and requires a motivated and experienced engineer to be involved in the delivery of significant hydrologic and hydraulic aspects of engineering design and analysis for a variety of multi-disciplinary projects.
Working collaboratively with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers diverse work opportunities and will see you involved in:
* Delivering a range of surface water projects in support of large-scale transport, renewable energy, and sustainability initiatives, risk-based assessments for large dams or tailings storage facilities, and conventional flood studies.
* Serving as Technical Lead, Project Manager, or Project Director to guide key projects and mentor other staff.
* Overseeing the application of software tools in a strategic manner to facilitate impact assessment, risk assessments, concept design, and compliance.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, data science/analytics, or similar with relevant industry experience.
* A thorough understanding of guidelines and methodologies pertinent to your skills (e.g., ARR 2019 methodologies and techniques).
* Hands-on experience supporting infrastructure design through the application of various hydrologic and hydraulic packages.
* Ability to apply hydrologic and hydraulic skills in transport infrastructure or large multi-disciplinary projects in the resources, renewables, or tailings sectors.
* Proficiency with advanced tools such as CFD (computational fluid dynamics), risk assessment software, programming packages (Python or R), or civil design packages.
* Capacity to provide technical mentorship and demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and strong business acumen.
