Our client is a well-known state govt organisation - they are embarking on an aspirational period of growth and transformation driven by significant programs of work. They are on the lookout for highly experienced Data Analyst for contract position. The Data Analyst will provide support to the Groundwater Assessment and Modelling team to help deliver key elements of the Groundwater Sustainable Yields Project.
**Your new role**
Conduct data analysis using GIS, statistical, and programming tools like Python and MATLAB to extract valuable insights for decision-makers.
- Skills to transform complex groundwater data into actionable information, helping managers make informed and impactful decisions.
- Preparation of reports and presentations that effectively communicate the results of data analysis.
**What you'll need to succeed**
A bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualification in computer science or related field is highly desirable; or equivalent work experience.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in related field
- Experience relevant to the capabilities of the role.
- Strong experience in management of data - analysis, reporting and communicating
- Experience with Programming tools like Python and MATLAB, GIS, and statistical methods to extract valuable insights for decision-makers.
- Technical competency in managing spatial data and software (QGIS and/or ESRI solutions preferable)
- Substantial stakeholder management experience within government - a sound grasp of how government works and how to access information across different government entities.
