The Opportunity
Through the provision of legal advice and business partnering, you will provide thought leadership and support for commercial contracts, compliance, and governance activities.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the ANZ L&I team and internal stakeholders to implement company strategies and initiatives, including populating the legal sections of the Risk Review database and presenting on legal risks at regional and global meetings.
Develop awareness of legal issues and their implications across the business.
Draft, review, negotiate, interpret, and advise on legal documents to achieve optimal commercial outcomes while mitigating risks.
Advise on claims liability, legal rights, obligations in disputes, and litigation matters; anticipate legislative and compliance changes and advise on opportunities or threats.
Implement local and global legal directives, plan and coordinate legal training.
Participate in integrity and compliance activities, including implementing the Code of Conduct, conducting integrity training, and updating policies.
Assist the Head of Legal with company secretarial activities for group companies.

Your Background
Bachelor of Laws and admission (or eligibility) to the Supreme Court of New South Wales or another Australian jurisdiction.
3 to 5 years post-qualification experience in commercial law.
Strong understanding of AU/NZ commercial contracts and current market positions.
Experience in resources, renewables, power, or utilities is desirable; candidates from other industries with strong commercial contracting backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with strong communication skills.
Proven negotiation skills with stakeholders across complex business structures.
