The Opportunity

The Operations Director will join our Corporate team at State Swim Support Office. This close-knit team oversees operations and supports our entire organisation, consisting of over 900 team members. The Operations Director will provide leadership for multiple sites (5-10). With a predominantly Western Australian based remit the role may include interstate or Singaporean requirements as the business grows.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead, develop, and maintain operational excellence across multiple sites. As a key member of the Senior Management team, you will play a pivotal role in driving high-performing teams, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving our financial and operational objectives.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Operations Director will lead a team of Operations Managers to implement and execute the State Swim strategy across our sites. You will be responsible for the effective delivery of our programs, upholding our high standards, and driving growth within our business units.


Execute Operational Strategy

* Work under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer to deliver each business unit's operations plan, including achieving Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).


Lead and Develop

* Mentor and coach Operations Managers to maximise their potential and drive business success.
* Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the operations team.
* Reinforce and uphold State Swim's cultural direction, setting clear behavioural expectations and decision-making standards.
* Develop and implement transformation projects with significant change management requirements.


Implementation

* Implement the State Swim program across all existing and new sites, ensuring professional and consistent delivery.
* Oversee maintenance programs to ensure all schools meet our highest standards while staying within budget requirements.


Monitor and Improve Performance

* Conduct structured meetings with management teams to monitor performance and provide feedback in alignment with OKRs and KPIs.


Develop and Improve

* Actively engage in the development and improvement of our programs, marketing activities, and training materials to drive business growth and enhance service quality.


Who You Are

* Desirable; Degree in Commerce/Business/Economics or similar.
* 3+ years' experience in a leadership role, overseeing multiple sites and multiple direct reports in a fast paced and dynamic industry. For example retail, hospitality, education or child care.
* Experience in aquatic education is not a requirement but may be an advantage.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
* Proficiency in understanding financial and other business-related reports.
* Exceptional communication and people skills.
* An ability to thrive under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
* A passion for coaching and developing others.
* Professional and courteous demeanour.
* Experience in improving operations and participating in policy formulation.
