About the Business Unit

Corrections Victoria has committed to establishing the Barwon Precinct, which develops shared operating models among four prisons to improve prisoner outcomes and create efficiencies. The Facility and Assets group was established to provide local and contracted facility and asset management services with consistent and transparent service levels.

About the Role

As part of the Facility and Assets group, the Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a high level of hygiene and cleanliness of all designated areas, including wet areas, bathrooms, kitchenettes, office spaces, hallways, entries, windows, pathways, and some ad‐hoc duties. The position is Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work when needed, and may require attendance at other facilities within the Barwon Precinct from time to time.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning in designated areas within the Barwon Precinct.
• Work autonomously or within a team in a large facility.
• Maintain a cleaning schedule while applying basic risk assessment knowledge related to maintenance and OH&S regulations.

About You

• Experience in commercial cleaning and/or maintenance.
• Ability to follow job and safety instructions.
• Maths skills for measuring cleaning fluids.
• Capability to work alone without supervision or as part of a team.
• Compliance with health and safety legislative requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements

• Certificate III in Cleaning Operations is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• A driver's licence is mandatory and required for this position.
