About the Opportunity
We're seeking a skilled Child and Youth Worker to provide therapeutic interventions and counselling to children and young people affected by family violence. You'll also support carers and collaborate with services to reduce the impact of violence in the community.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivering trauma-informed counselling and group work
* Supporting carers through advocacy and information sharing
* Safety planning and crisis response
* Coordinating with police and local services
* Community education and stakeholder engagement
About You
You'll bring both professional expertise and personal resilience to this role.
What we're looking for:
* Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or similar
* Experience working therapeutically with children and young people
* Commitment to feminist practice and systems-informed approaches
* Ability to manage complexity with empathy and cultural sensitivity
* Openness to supervision, reflection, and ongoing learning
Additional experience with play therapy, sand tray, or other trauma-informed modalities will be highly regarded.
Requirements: C Class driver's licence, Working With Children Card, and police check (or willingness to obtain).
