About the Role
The Senior Estimator will coordinate the activities of the Estimating Team, allocate estimating resources, maintain strong client relationships, identify new opportunities, and develop the capability of key staff. This role is based in
Melbourne
, Victoria and plays a critical part in securing and transitioning work into construction.
Key Responsibilities
* Training and development of estimating and commercial staff
* Formulation and submission of competitive tenders
* Tender and contract negotiations post-submission
* Coordinating tender handovers with construction teams
* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and market conditions
* Preparing first-principles estimates across a diverse project portfolio
Project Experience Will Include
* Land development – residential and industrial subdivisions
* Water, sewer, and recycled water upgrades
* Road infrastructure and stormwater drainage projects for local councils and state authorities
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* 10+ years' experience in the civil construction industry
* A strong mix of project delivery and estimating experience
* Proven first-principles estimating capability
* Experience developing and reviewing subcontractor work packages
* Strong understanding of local market conditions to ensure commercial success
* Exposure to Expert Estimation or CATS (highly regarded)
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
