The Correctional Manager, Industries Level 2, is a key member of the Centre's management team. This role chairs the prisoner employment committee, overseeing employment for over 250 prisoners daily. The manager is responsible for managing existing commercial projects and generating new business while adhering to the competitive neutrality provisions of the National Competition Policy.
The prison Industries activities are integrated with accredited training programs, including Vocational Education and Training (VET), Integrated VET, and the Advance2Work Program. The Centre also conducts on-the-job training to help prisoners validate their theoretical knowledge through practical application.

* Devise strategies to respond to budget trends and monitor financial statements.
* Manage the use of industry facilities, including capital works and minor works submissions.
* Maintain industry business records and provide data for audits.
* Manage external suppliers to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of products and services.
* Provide timely advice to stakeholders and build strong relationships.
* Negotiate positive outcomes and ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
* Identify and implement initiatives to achieve QCS outcomes.
* Engage with stakeholders to assess service delivery and meet their needs.
* Ensure industry production aligns with client requirements in quality, turnaround, and specifications.
* Develop and maintain client networks for ongoing business contracts.
* Assess quotations, develop business plans, and propose joint ventures to maximize profitability and inmate labor use.
* Coordinate with the Deputy General Manager on vocational training and education components.
* Collaborate with managers, supervisors, instructors, and sentence management to ensure continuous prisoner employment.
* Monitor and coordinate resource use to ensure effective industry operations.
* Manage work allocation within a risk management framework, ensuring alignment with case management plans and IOMS requirements.
* Ensure compliance with legislation and offender management procedures.
* Maintain current knowledge of legislation, policies, and procedures related to offender management.
