HMG OFFROAD is seeking an experienced and driven Workshop Manager to lead our Yarrawonga-based leisure industry and multi-franchise workshop operation.
This is not a standard dealership role. You will be overseeing a high-capability workshop delivering everything from routine servicing and repairs on leisure vehicles through, but not limited to, suspension GVM upgrades & high spec remote touring and 4x4 accessory fit-outs across leading brands, some closely aligned with associated businesses specializing in Toyota, Isuzu UTE, Can-Am & Sea-Doo products.
This role suits a true hands-on enthusiast with proven people leadership experience — someone who understands both the product technical requirements and lifestyle side of the motor vehicle & leisure industries.
Your Responsibilities
• Lead and manage daily workshop operations across light vehicle fit outs & leisure craft repairs & maintenance.
• Oversee complex 4x4 builds with product installations including OEM Manufacturer and Aftermarket- suspension, GVM upgrades, bar work, Offroad electrical and touring products.
• Manage and mentor technicians, apprentices, trade assistants & fitters.
• Drive productivity, efficiency and workshop profitability.
• Ensure high end quality assured workmanship throughout all operations.
• Coordinate workflow, job allocation and workshop scheduling.
• Work closely with local and remote OEM Parts and Service teams to optimize performance.
• Ensure compliance and documentation requirements for warranty repairs are maintained.
• Maintain strong customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships.
What You Bring
• Proven experience as a Workshop Controller, Foreman or Workshop Manager.
• Strong technical background in or drive to specialize in 4WD vehicles, accessories and modifications.
• Leadership capability with the ability to drive team performance and productivity.
• High level of organization and workshop coordination skills.
• Passion for the 4x4 lifestyle and aftermarket industry with understanding of OEM Limitations.
• Experience with Toyota, Isuzu Ute, Can-Am & Sea-Doo products is highly regarded.
• Trade qualifications preferred but are not necessary.
