We are now seeking a motivated and experienced General Manager to lead our dealership operations, drive growth, and manage a diverse and talented team.
The Role
As General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the business across automotive sales, 4x4, and power equipment divisions. You will take ownership of financial performance, staff leadership, and business development, ensuring the dealership continues to deliver outstanding results and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all areas of the business including sales, service, and administration.
- Provide strong leadership to staff, building a positive and high-performing culture.
- Manage financial performance including profit & loss, debtor/creditor reporting, and business analysis.
- Oversee and maintain POS and accounts systems to ensure smooth operation.
- Drive sales performance and customer satisfaction across all product categories.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer and dealer standards.
- Develop and implement business strategies to support growth and efficiency.
- Represent the dealership professionally within the community and with suppliers.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring proven management experience, excellent leadership ability, and strong commercial acumen. While automotive or power equipment industry knowledge is advantageous, we value management and leadership capability above all.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in managing a business or dealership.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Proficiency with POS and accounting systems.
- Sound financial knowledge including P&L;, creditor/debtor management, and reporting.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Results-driven, organized, and adaptable.
Desirable:
- Experience in the automotive, 4x4, or power equipment industries.
- Familiarity with franchise/manufacturer reporting requirements.
