Position Overview
The Practice Nurse (Registered Nurse / Enrolled Nurse) is responsible for delivering safe, evidence-based, and person-centred nursing care in accordance with professional standards, organisational policies, and NSW health regulations. The role involves clinical assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide comprehensive nursing care aligned with best practice and clinical guidelines
* Conduct patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate care plans
* Administer medications safely in accordance with legislation and organisational policy
* Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation
* Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
* Recognise and respond appropriately to clinical deterioration and emergencies
* Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and safety initiatives
* Support and mentor students, graduates, or junior staff as required
* Comply with infection control, WHS, and mandatory reporting requirements
Essential Requirements
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA (no conditions or restrictions)
* Eligibility to work in Australia
* Demonstrated clinical competence within the relevant practice area
* Sound knowledge of NSW healthcare standards and legislation
* Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience in [e.g. acute care, aged care, mental health, community health]
* Postgraduate qualifications or specialty certifications
* Experience with electronic medical record systems
* Commitment to ongoing professional development
