Western Australian Specialty Alloys (WASA) is an international market leader in the production of superalloys for forging and ring rolling applications for a range of aerospace, power generation and oil & gas applications. We are a fully owned subsidiary of Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC) a US manufacturing company based in Portland, Oregon.
WAL provides Maintenance Services to the manufacturing facility of Western Australian Specialty Alloys Pty Ltd, a related company engaged in the manufacture of super alloys for aerospace, Oil & Gas and power generation applications.
Airbus, Boeing, GE, Rolls-Royce and many other leading manufacturers depend on PCC for critical airframe, engine, power generation and general industrial components. With few exceptions, every aircraft in the sky flies with parts manufactured by PCC.
We are seeking a Project Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role requires someone who is prepared to work within our core values of Courage, Ownership, Collaboration, Integrity, and Innovate.
About the Role
The Project Engineer (Electrical) is responsible for the planning and execution of various capital projects. This role involves delivering engineering solutions that are cost-effective, technically sound, and aligned with operational requirements, while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Essential Functions
Duties listed below, but not limited to:
* Lead project management activities and develop cost-effective engineering solutions.
* Produce functional specifications and scope of works; liaise with sub-contractors to ensure project alignment.
* Supervise Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
* Assist with the procurement of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control products.
* Coordinate shutdown activities related to project execution.
* Oversee annual testing of plant electrical infrastructure and address any identified issues.
* Provide electrical expertise and breakdown support; prepare and modify CAD drawings as required.
* Respond to and resolve electrical/control safety concerns in a timely and effective manner.
* Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments to support safe work practices.
* Prepare and update work instructions and documentation to meet project needs.
* Perform data analysis and produce technical reports to support decision-making.
* Manage changes in systems and processes in line with project requirements.
* Assist in preparing site maintenance permits for high-risk activities.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures including PCC Code of Conduct, Quality and Safety Cardinal Rules
* Other duties within skills, knowledge and abilities as required by management.
Qualifications
This position requires:
* A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated experience working with Power Systems, Instrumentation, and Control Systems will be highly regarded.
* Proficiency in Electrical CAD software for preparing and modifying technical drawings.
