Job Title: Claims Specialist
Our organisation is seeking an experienced Claims Specialist to manage complex and high-value Personal Injury claims. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of handling MOJ Portal cases up to £100k and be ambitious to develop their knowledge in catastrophic or multi-track claims exceeding £100k.
* Investigate and resolve complex claims to ensure they are properly reserved and settled at optimum cost
* Establish how and why events occurred and the legal liabilities which may arise
* Obtain all necessary evidence and relevant documentation
* Correspond with all parties to the case quickly and professionally
* Obtain medical or expert evidence and wage information where appropriate
* Negotiate settlement where appropriate
* Instruct and control defence solicitors, through to trial if necessary
* Ensure that costs are kept to a minimum
Key Qualifications:
* Proven experience and success in managing higher end MOJ Portal claims
* Strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively challenge where appropriate
* Good understanding of industry procedures, products, and services in the insurance sector
* Desire to learn and develop your Claims Handling career
The role involves investigating and resolving complex claims efficiently, establishing liability, gathering evidence, and negotiating settlements. You will work closely with defence solicitors and manage costs effectively.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough investigations into indemnity, liability, and quantum
2. Manage caseloads of complex and high-value Personal Injury claims
3. Develop expertise in catastrophic or multi-track claims exceeding £100k
4. Continuously develop knowledge in negotiation and dispute resolution
5. Work closely with defence solicitors and manage costs effectively
