About The Role
The Nursing Unit Manager is responsible for the efficient management of nursing and other relevant staff under their delegation and coordination of the provision of nursing care. The Nursing Unit Manager leads nursing staff, ensures effective liaison between all health professionals and is responsible for the environmental and work, health and safety management of the unit.
Clinician engagement and leadership is a prominent feature of the public health system. The Local Health District (LHD) is committed to strengthening ongoing clinician engagement of staff providing direct patient care in planning, delivery, improvement and evaluation of health services.
Responsibilities
* Efficiently manage nursing staff and other relevant staff.
* Delegate and coordinate nursing care provision.
* Lead nursing staff and ensure effective liaison between all health professionals.
* Responsible for environmental and work health and safety management of the unit.
* Collaborate with clinician-led clinical standards, safety and quality improvements.
Eligibility & Requirements
* Australian citizen or permanent resident, or able to legally live and work in Australia.
* Evidence of vaccination to comply with NSW Health policies.
* May be subject to a probationary period of six months from the date of appointment.
