Are you a skilled and passionate mechanic with a drive to ensure vehicles and equipment are in top working condition? Do you want to play an integral role in keeping our community moving, with reliable Council vehicles and equipment?
We're looking for qualified mechanics to join our team — people who know their way around engines and enjoy a bit of variety in their day.
You'll be working on everything from utes and tractors to graders, garbage trucks and beyond – if it's got wheels (or tracks), you'll probably get to work on it. Some days you'll be in the workshop, other days you'll be out on the road helping with breakdowns or on-site servicing. Every day you will help to keep things ticking over safely and smoothly.
You will provide essential repairs, maintenance, and servicing for a wide range of Council vehicles and equipment and will play a crucial role in ensuring that our fleet operates efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively. You will schedule and perform regular servicing, manage service records, and provide on-the-road support when needed. Your technical expertise will be crucial in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues, as well as advising on plant specifications and liaising with external contractors and sales teams when needed.
We have positions available in Coolah (permanent full time) and Coonabarabran (permanent full time and full time Term Contract up to 2 years).

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable: AIS Examiner's licence, local government or similar experience, forklift licence, plant operation tickets, HR/HC licence, heavy vehicle experience, fabrication and ability to follow plans.
