Respect is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting older Australians across our network of residential aged care homes, retirement living communities and home care services. We are currently seeking an experienced Chef Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis at Emerald Avalon in Emerald, Queensland.
About the Role
As Chef Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals that enhance the health, wellbeing and enjoyment of our residents. You will oversee the day-to-day kitchen operations, lead and support the catering team, and ensure all meals are prepared in line with dietary requirements, food safety standards and Respect's values.
This is a hands-on role that combines cooking, supervision and collaboration with care teams to ensure residents' needs and preferences are met.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and deliver high-quality, nutritious meals for residents
* Supervise and support kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and WHS standards
* Manage menu planning in line with resident preferences, dietary requirements and aged care standards
* Monitor stock levels, ordering and food cost control
* Work closely with clinical and lifestyle teams to support resident wellbeing
* Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
About You
You will be a passionate and experienced hospitality professional who enjoys leading a team and takes pride in delivering quality food and service.
You will bring
* Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
* Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role (aged care or health sector experience highly regarded)
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards and dietary requirements
* Excellent communication and team leadership skills
* A genuine commitment to resident-centred care
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
