About The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute leader to join the organisation as Manager Major Maintenance. This senior leadership role is accountable for the delivery of major maintenance and capital programs across the National Network, with a strong emphasis on leading complex, high-value projects that improve asset performance, reliability and network resilience. Reporting to the General Manager, Asset Maintenance Services, the role leads the planning and execution of significant maintenance works aligned to the annual program, providing end-to-end accountability for complex, multi-disciplinary projects delivered in live operational environments. A key priority is applying disciplined project management to drive consistent, efficient and repeatable delivery outcomes, while balancing competing priorities across a dynamic and high-risk operating context.
The role requires strong executive judgement, advanced project leadership capability and the ability to influence at senior levels. A commercial approach to contractor management and delivery performance is essential, as is the ability to set clear expectations, build capability across teams and delivery partners, and foster a performance-driven, safety-led culture. ARTC is particularly interested in senior leaders from both government and contractor environments across rail, infrastructure, gas, utilities, transport or heavy industry, who bring proven experience managing complex projects at scale and delivering outcomes through disciplined execution.
This is an opportunity to operate at scale, influence outcomes at a senior level and play a key role in shaping the future performance of Australia's interstate rail network.
The role can be based in Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney.
