About the Role
This is a 12‑month labour hire assignment, offering the chance to work within a specialised finance team supporting complex public‑sector financial operations. The role requires strong experience in financial accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and compliance within a multifaceted environment.
You will play a key role in accurate financial reporting, analysis, budgeting support, and providing clear, high‑quality advice to stakeholders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Perform end‑of‑month (EOM) and end‑of‑year (EOY) processes, including reviewing accruals, BAS, general ledger reconciliations, journals, variance analysis, and close procedures.
* Assist in preparing annual financial statements and supporting documentation in accordance with AASB, PGPA requirements, and Finance Reporting Rules.
* Support audit processes, including preparation of working papers and coordination with ANAO auditors.
* Produce timely, accurate, and insightful management and executive reporting.
* Analyse financial data to identify trends, explain variances, resolve discrepancies, and provide meaningful insights.
* Support budgeting processes and reporting in line with Budget Procedures Operating Rules.
* Apply knowledge of ERP systems, Excel, and financial modules (GL, AP/AR, budgeting, asset management).
* Provide informed, practical financial and accounting advice to business stakeholders.
* Contribute to the development, review, and maintenance of finance policies and procedures.
* Build strong working relationships and communicate complex financial concepts to non‑financial stakeholders effectively.
About You
To be successful, you will have:
* A minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a complex financial or public‑sector environment.
* CPA or CA qualification
* Strong knowledge of financial accounting, compliance, and reporting frameworks.
* High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, multifaceted environment.
