About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our Blackberry Farm as a Crop Scout.
In this role, you will monitor crop health, check for pests and diseases, record field observations, and report any issues to the farm management team.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, has good attention to detail, and is interested in plant health and farm operations.
The tasks include, but are not limited to:
Monitoring & reporting of insects and disease in Blackberry blocks
Weekly inspection and maintenance of insect traps
Accurate record keeping and updating of relevant files
Assistance in data collection from field trials as required
Supporting field data capture and analysis of agronomy and breeding trials
Assisting with implementation of R&D trials
Scouting for pests and diseases in new and established crops
Assisting with bee activity evaluations
About You
To be successful in this role you will:
Driver's licence essential and own transport
Available to work full-time for the next 6 months - local residents are encouraged to apply
Physically fit and willing to learn new skills
Self-motivated and able to work well as part of a team
Highly diligent with strong attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work unsupervised and follow instructions
Reasonable computer literacy (Excel)
Experience in horticulture is an advantage
