Provide high level strategic ecological services in the field of environment and natural resources. Prepare and present evidence in the Land and Environment Court. Manage strategic programs and projects associated with terrestrial and aquatic ecology, biodiversity and sustainability issues. About the role The role of the Ecologist is responsible for using specialist knowledge to provide expert ecological advice within the Central Coast Council Development Applications and Rezoning applications, as well as expert advice to external authorities and agencies, the general public, applicants/ developers, community groups and educational institutions as required. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community. To be successful in this role, you will have: Degree qualification in Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science or related field Or demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development. Current Class C Driver's Licence. Demonstrated recent experience providing expert technical and strategic ecological advice in a similar environmental assessment role within a medium to large sized organisation. Proven comprehensive understanding of relevant local government legislation that relates to environmental planning and biodiversity conservation. Other important information The commencing salary for this position is $90K plus Leaseback.
