We are seeking a dedicated individual to assist in the restoration of Sydney's critically endangered Turpentine Ironbark Forest at Camperdown Cemetery. As an Ecology Conservation Specialist, you will collaborate with experienced professionals to preserve this unique ecosystem through plant identification, weed removal, and other outdoor activities promoting environmental conservation.
This is a long-term commitment for over six months, with regular sessions held once a month. By joining our Bushcare initiative, you will not only contribute to the preservation of this forest but also acquire valuable skills and experience in ecological restoration.
The key responsibilities include:
* Identifying and removing invasive weeds to prevent further degradation of the forest
* Assisting in the planting of native species to enhance biodiversity
* Participating in monitoring and reporting activities to track the effectiveness of conservation efforts
