IAG Defence & National Security is seeking an experienced Nautical Chart Quality Assurance Specialist to support the Australian Hydrographic Office's National Charting Directorate.
This role will contribute to the quality assurance and validation of nautical chart products that enable safe navigation in Australian waters. Working within an integrated team, you will provide specialist expertise in chart compilation, review and validation in accordance with international and Australian standards.
About the Role
Reporting within the Maritime Geospatial environment, you will;
* Perform quality assurance of paper and digital nautical charts
* Validate Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs)
* Ensure compliance with International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) specifications
* Apply Australian charting specifications and national standards
* Contribute to chart production and maintenance workflows
* Support continuous improvement initiatives within the charting function
This is an office-based role in Wollongong, requiring face-to-face collaboration with stakeholders.
About You
You will bring;
* Minimum 5 years' experience in Nautical Charting
* Sound knowledge of IHO Charting specifications
* Sound knowledge of Australian Charting specifications
* Demonstrated experience compiling and QA'ing paper and digital nautical charts
* Experience validating Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC)
* Strong ability to work independently and follow defined procedures
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* A proactive approach to continuous improvement
Security Requirements
* AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance (mandatory)
* Ability to obtain a Defence Intelligence Suitability Assessment (DISA)
* Willingness to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements as required
