About the Role
We're searching for a sharp and reliable Accounts/Bookkeeper to help keep our numbers in check. This part-time role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the chance to work within growing business team.
Key Responsibilities
* Financial Accounting & Reporting: Prepare month-end journals (accruals, prepayments), perform balance sheet reconciliations, and support monthly financial reports, cash flow statements, and P&L summaries.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Provide input into budgeting processes and assist department leaders with variance analysis and financial insights.
* Compliance & Controls: Assist with BAS, tax reporting, payroll reconciliations, and external audits while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and reconciliations
* Prepare payroll and ensure superannuation compliance
* Perform bank reconciliations and maintain the general ledger
* Process and manage prepayments and accruals
* Keep financial records tidy and accurate
* Support management with ad hoc financial queries and reporting
* Handle payroll tax, superannuation submissions, and end-of-month adjustments
* Manage the accounts inbox and ensure timely responses
* Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations
What You Bring to the Table
* Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting and Bookkeeping, or a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
* Solid working knowledge of Xero
* Meticulous attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet tight deadlines
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* CPA/CA qualified or working towards these qualifications.
* 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced or growing business.
* Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and month-end processes.
* Experience with ERP systems (e.g., ODOO) is a plus.
* Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, financial modelling).
* High attention to detail with a process improvement mindset.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently, take ownership, and embrace feedback.
