Mental Health Clinician (HP3) – Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, Queensland Health

Part time, Full time, Contract, Casual/Temporary

Join a 24/7 acute mental health service supporting consumers in crisis at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Emergency Department.


Make a real impact by delivering high-quality, patient-centred mental health care in a fast-paced Emergency Department, working collaboratively within a dedicated 24/7 multidisciplinary team.


Your new role

In this dynamic position, you will deliver high-quality, patient-centred mental health assessment and intervention within a 24-hour Emergency Department service.


Key responsibilities include:

* Conduct comprehensive assessments, therapeutic interventions, patient education and discharge planning within an interprofessional team.
* Contribute to clinical education through supervision of students, allied health assistants and participation in team-based learning.
* Participate in quality improvement, service development and research activities under the guidance of senior clinicians.
* Work within a continuous shift roster to support 24/7 emergency mental health service delivery.

* Ability to deliver evidence-based mental health assessments and interventions in an emergency context.
* Strong communication skills with the capacity to work effectively within an interprofessional team.
* Commitment to continual professional development and the ability to build growing clinical expertise.
* Capacity to support the education and development of students and junior staff.
