$67,961.54 per annum to $72,672.89 per annum
The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef. About The Role:
Our Communications team has an immediate opening for a driven and talented professional to join us on a temporary basis in the role of Communications Officer. In this key role, you will be at the heart of our mission to enhance how Council connects and interacts with our community. If you are a versatile communicator ready to make a real impact locally, we want to hear from you.
Your Impact:
* Campaign Delivery: Support the rollout of creative communication campaigns, media relations and public events that keep our community informed and engaged.
* Digital Execution: Help bring our marketing strategies to life across social media, websites and internal staff platforms.
* Content Crafting: Write, edit and produce compelling stories and updates that highlight the work of Council's various departments.
* Brand Excellence: Act as a brand champion, ensuring our visual and professional standards are consistently met across all channels.
* Visual Storytelling: Capture the action by taking photos and video to showcase Council projects, local initiatives and community events.
* Team Coordination: Provide vital administrative support to ensure the Communications and Marketing team operates at its best.
Essential Requirements:
1. C Class Drivers Licence.
2. Previous experience in a similar communications role.
3. Knowledge of digital and social media tools.
4. A passion to play a key role in a small, highly driven and award-winning communications team.
5. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable Requirements:
1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Digital Marketing, Multimedia, Communications, Public Relations, or significant experience and a history of success in such fields.
2. Knowledge and understanding of the economic, political and social issues relating to the Local Government environment.
3. Experience in the development of media campaigns and innovative use of emerging technologies.
4. Experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator and InDesign).
