Job Description
The Senior Product Manager - Building Materials will have the following main responsibilities:
* Identify and develop business opportunities with the key decision-makers of Construction, Engineering & Contractor companies to create demand
* Organise presentations on a one-to-one and group basis to further specifications and build long term rapport with customers
* Provide ongoing national support and serve as the divisional expert post-launch
* Ensure that the specifications realize eventual sales by monitoring the major projects throughout all procurement stages from the design stage through to the supply
* Engaging with key client stakeholders to understand the specific business value and or operational needs and propose appropriate solution requirements and close the deal
* Review current marketing trends and research competitors, monitor competitive environment including product offerings, to stay current with similar products or services on the market
* Collaborate with other executives to develop successful strategies and campaigns to grow product line sales & create competitive advantage
* Continue to improve and differentiate the company's customer value proposition vs competitors to allow for value- based pricing strategy vs cost-based pricing
The Successful Applicant
The successful Senior Product Manager - Building Materials has the following knowledge, skills and experience:
* Engineering degree in Civil, Mining, or equivalent
* 6-8 years of experience within the Construction, Mining and Civil Construction industries in either a sales/specification or technical capacity
* Experience selling technical solutions/products to Engineers, Major Construction Companies & Contractors (Desirable)
* Experience in successfully achieving targets and KPI's
* Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills are necessary for building and maintaining client relationships, addressing concerns, and fostering customer loyalty
* An established network of contacts with Tier 1 & 2 Engineering, Builders and Contractor organisations
* Good understanding of the specification process & managing a pipeline with multiple stakeholders
* Leadership skills with the ability to set and prioritise goals
* Strong business acumen, including market understanding, financial analysis, and strategic planning, is essential for driving business growth and making informed decisions
