As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles.
This includes 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers and even armoured tanks.
Your tasks will involve technical inspection and classification, repairing or replacing worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions and differentials.
You will also reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts, carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs, test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, ignition and electronic fuel injection.
Additionally, you will inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates.
Salary
The salary for this role is $41.54 - $43.22 per hour, inclusive of allowances (based on qualifications and skills).
