The Adelaide Production and Treatment Alliance is a partnership with SA Water and is responsible for operating and maintaining five water treatment plants and five wastewater treatment plants that deliver services to the Adelaide Metropolitan regions.

This is an opportunity to become part of a team supporting the Adelaide community through the operation of the Christies Beach, and Aldinga Wastewater Treatment Plants.

As a Process Technician, you will play a key role in the operation of the Wastewater Treatment Plants and Reuse facilities. This role requires a strong technical mindset with proven problem-solving abilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of the Christies Beach and Aldinga Wastewater Treatment Plants, as well as the Aldinga Reuse Treatment Plant. The role ensures the high-quality treatment of wastewater and the production of reuse water supplied to customers in a safe and environmentally sound manner, in compliance with EPA, DEW, DHW, and associated licence requirements.
Responsibilities of the position include:
* Ensure safe, compliant and efficient operation of the wastewater treatment plants and reuse treatment plant. Via monitor & responding to SCADA alarms checking the plant performance via trends dater and adjust processes setpoints to achieve operations performance target.
* Ensure all duties are performed safely as per the agreed Safe Work Method Statements, Procedures, and Permit to Work system.
* Perform sampling, laboratory testing and instrument calibration to confirm optimal operation of the plant and functionality of instrumentation.
* Monitor the work teams and contractors onsite to ensure compliance to safety regulations and P&T Alliance Health and Safety procedures/guidelines and site environmental procedures.
* Support the Plant Supervisor with day-to-day plant management activities and contribute to daily operational briefings.
* Assist in the development, review, and continuous improvement of operational practices and procedures.
* Identify and escalate potential and actual safety, water quality and environmental incidents and emergencies.
* Participation in regular training to maintain skills and knowledge to the level required for plant operation.
* Identify optimisation opportunities and assist in developing plans to improve plant operation.
Essential requirements
· The ability to operate pumps, valves and integrated control systems would be highly advantageous to the role
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and show initiative
* Strong communication skills including good telephone manners and written skills
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work as a team member or independently
* Current unrestricted driver's licence
* Required to work flexible hours to meet demands and be able to travel to metropolitan sites an places where necessary.
* Required to be on call for nominated water treatment plants on a roster basis which includes additional payment and allowances.
