Position Title: Ranger Location: Rockhampton.
Remuneration: $73,858 - $80,824 per annum.
Permanent OO4 Ranger - Rockhampton Help deliver the work unit's operational and annual work plan.
As an OO4 Ranger, you'll play a key role in delivering the Work Unit's Operational and Annual Work Plans under the guidance of the Ranger in Charge or 2IC.
You'll work collaboratively to deliver activities such as operating and maintaining plant and equipment, managing pest plants and animals, conducting planned burns and wildfire suppression, and maintaining park infrastructure.
Your primary focus will be delivering the visitor infrastructure maintenance program and associated capital works.
You'll also contribute to plant and equipment maintenance, visitor management, pest and fire management, compliance, and cultural heritage protection.
Most work will be field-based, but you'll also take on administrative tasks, manage small projects, and perform natural and cultural resource management duties.
Practical skills in operating and maintaining small power equipment and tools for asset maintenance are essential.
To succeed in this role, you must: Communicate effectively and work well in a team, as a supervisor, and independently.
Deliver estate development, visitor infrastructure maintenance, and compliance activities.
Operate and maintain plant, equipment, and tools.
Assist in developing and delivering the annual works program.
Provide information to park visitors and stakeholders.
Respond to emergencies and monitor workplace health and safety.
Support and promote the interests of First Nations people.
You must be willing to travel, work, and camp overnight in remote areas under varying conditions.
A good level of physical fitness is essential.
