As a Residential Youth Worker, you have the unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of children and young people living in out-of-home care.
You will be responsible for establishing a secure and nurturing home environment, providing guidance and support with personal care requirements including meal assistance and hygiene routines. This may also involve offering transportation for school, appointments and community activities.
In addition, you will foster the development of skills and socialisation within the local community, alongside promoting positive pro-social peer interactions. You may also be required to support in the administration of medications and associated reporting requirements for children on Child Protection orders.
One of your key responsibilities will be to provide trauma-informed care to young people who display complex behavioural issues and traumatic backgrounds. This will involve engaging in the Trauma Recovery practice framework and undertaking Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) within the first three months of your employment.
