Student Support Officers play a pivotal role in enhancing student wellbeing and learning outcomes within school communities. They work collaboratively with the wellbeing team and school counselling service to develop and implement targeted wellbeing initiatives and programs.
Key responsibilities include providing individualised support, developing whole-of-school wellbeing strategies, and fostering partnerships with external agencies to provide referral pathways for students and families.
To be successful in this role, applicants must possess a diploma or higher qualification in social work, youth work, welfare, or a related field. A strong commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies is also essential.
A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) is mandatory for all applicants.
