Male Youth Support / Mentor
The Real Group is seeking a passionate male Youth Support/ Mentor to support the delivery of the Level Up Youth Program, a youth program, which is a strengths-based initiative designed to empower young people through practical skill development, confidence building, and real-world readiness. Casual/Part Time/Full Time for the right candidate within the Yeppoon/Rockhampton region.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in youth mentoring, training, coaching, or facilitation who is motivated by creating positive, measurable impact. For the right candidate, there is scope to increase hours over time through involvement in additional and related roles across the organisation.
About the role
You will work directly with participants in the Level Up program, supporting their personal and professional development through structured sessions, mentoring conversations, and ongoing encouragement. The role requires adaptability, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build trust with diverse cohorts.
Key responsibilities
* Provide on the ground support during program delivery and related activities as needed
* Mentor and guide participants to develop confidence, employability skills, and personal insight
* Build positive, professional relationships with young people and stakeholders
* Provide feedback and observations to support participant progress and program outcomes
* Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
* Support other training programs or roles as opportunities arise, increasing hours where mutually suitable
About you
* Demonstrated experience in youth mentoring, training, coaching, education, and community services
* Strong communication skills with high emotional intelligence, including clear boundary-setting and behaviour support
* Proven ability to de-escalate challenging situations and maintain safe, positive, and inclusive learning environments
* Skilled at engaging, motivating, and building rapport with young people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
* Reliable, professional, and values-driven approach to work
* Approachable, fun, and light-hearted personality, with the ability to balance humour and professionalism
* WHS awareness and confidence working in hands-on environments
* Additional skills or experience in building, construction, manual labour, or hands-on trade-based environments will be viewed favourably
* Relevant qualifications in youth work or community services (highly regarded)
* Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Current unrestricted (open) Driver Licence
