Fashion Designer – Tutu du Monde
Great opportunity to work with Tutu du Monde's Creative Director and design team on ideation and execution within new and existing categories at a global leader in premium girls' fashion.
The Role
We are seeking a Fashion Designer with a passion for creativity, magic, and all things theatrical. Ideally, you will bring experience in Childrenswear and/or Premium Apparel / Accessories, and be ready to contribute across the full design journey. You will work closely with the Creative Director and the design team from the very first spark of inspiration — colour palettes, seasonal concepts, and storytelling themes — right through to bringing the magic alive at Tutu du Monde's extraordinary photo shoots.
This is a hands-on role requiring at least 2–5 years of industry experience and a love of detail, craft, and imagination.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Collaborate with the Creative Director and design team on seasonal concepts, design development, and photo shoot storytelling.
* Accurately set up styles for all collections within the cloud-based PLM system.
* Create Illustrator CADs and assist with print artwork edits, scaling, and vector files.
* Develop and manage detailed Range Plans with complete style information, from early development through to SMS finalisation.
* Support and contribute to new design projects, including beaded panel design and artwork approvals.
* Oversee and manage the workflow of the Design Assistant and Spec Tech, ensuring tasks are delivered accurately and on time.
* Manage Proto and SMS development handovers with external suppliers, ensuring alignment with the Critical Path.
* Coordinate beaded panel tracing approvals for Proto and SMS.
* Oversee the commenting and approval process from Proto garment samples to SMS garment samples.
* Provide suppliers with accurate style details, labelling information, and target pricing.
* Receive and distribute Proto & SMS samples internally, ensuring correct documentation.
* Approve invoices related to Proto & SMS samples.
* Maintain professional correspondence with external suppliers.
* Ensure daily, weekly, and seasonal deadlines are consistently met through strong organisation and time management.
Values
* Teamwork – Collaborate across Design, Production, and Sales, supporting the wider Tutu du Monde team in achieving business goals.
* Professionalism – Act respectfully, supportively, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
* Creativity & Passion – Embrace Tutu du Monde's world of magic, theatre, and artistry, bringing imagination and joy to every project.
Skills & Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Fashion Design.
* 2–5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
* Strong knowledge of fabric and garment construction.
* Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience working with offshore vendors.
* High attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
* Ability to multi-task, prioritise deadlines, and work independently.
* A proactive, collaborative, and adaptable approach.
