About Domestic Violence Unit - Family Law The Domestic Violence Unit (DVU) is a dynamic, state-wide team of lawyers, case workers, mental health professionals, and financial counsellors delivering trauma-informed legal and non-legal support.

The Dubbo Legal Aid office offers strong local support and on-site supervision, with a Family Court nearby for in-person appearances.
About The Role You are responsible for providing high quality, trauma-informed advice, minor assistance, duty and casework service to socially and economically disadvantaged clients who have experienced family and domestic violence.
This role conducts an effective legal practice, working within an interdisciplinary team to meet the legal and non-legal needs of clients who have experienced family and domestic violence.
This role is required to comply with the Legal Aid Commission Act, policies and practice management standards and undertake all related administrative and case management activities.
Flexible work arrangements are available, with a mix of office, court, and work-from-home days based on operational needs.

Find out more at Working at Legal Aid NSW You Must The essential requirements for this role be admitted or be eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW be able to provide a current NSW Practising Certificate before you start work with us be willing to do a Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) have the capacity to travel regularly, and to regional and remote areas The Family Law Division have several roles where it is a statutory obligation for staff to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
You will be required to provide your Working with Children Check details prior to commencement in any role requiring the check.
