The Opportunity Are you a commercially minded Finance professional with a knack for transforming complex data into strategic insights? Our client is seeking a proactive Management Accountant to join their Central Finance team. In this pivotal role, you will support the end-to-end budgeting and forecasting consolidation process for the entire institution. Working under the broad direction of the Manager, Financial Performance and Budgeting, you will be instrumental in developing sophisticated planning models and providing the analytical "engine room" that informs executive-level decision-making. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the design and implementation of the annual budget and reforecasting cycles, including the development of guidelines and detailed timetables. Use quantitative and qualitative data to develop driver-based insights, "what-if" scenarios, and long-term financial projections. Prepare high-level management reports and presentations that track financial performance against KPIs, highlighting trends and mitigating budget risks. Monitor data integrity within budgeting systems (Hyperion/Oracle) and collaborate with finance teams to ensure robust internal controls. Provide expert advice to the broader University community on budget matters, ensuring a consistent and sophisticated approach to financial management across diverse departments. Your Profile You are an analytical thinker who can balance "big picture" strategy with meticulous financial accuracy. You thrive in a consultative team environment and possess the communication skills necessary to translate complex financial data for non-finance stakeholders. Selection Criteria: Relevant tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance and progress toward a professional membership (CA/CPA). Substantial experience in financial planning within large, complex organisations (preferably with multiple funding streams). Proven expertise in coordinating complex consolidated budgets and forecasts. Proficiency in Oracle-based enterprise systems (e.g., Hyperion) is highly desirable. Exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to build relationships across a diverse institutional landscape. This role offers the chance to work within a modern, functionally aligned service delivery model. You will be part of a supportive team that prioritizes professional development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
