The Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor to coordinate and drive the day-to-day activities of our Accounts Payable team.
As the Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the full accounts payable process, from invoice management through to payment processing. You will play a key role in ensuring that all financial functions adhere to Treasurers Instructions, Australian Accounting Standards, Financial Management Act, and PTA policies.
Your role will also involve managing and reviewing the purchasing card operations and ensuring compliance with PTA policies. You will be responsible for overseeing financial delegations, coordinating compliance checks. As part of the wider financial team, you will contribute to reporting on Accounts Payable KPIs and run data analytics, while also helping to implement process improvements to optimize the Accounts Payable function.
The ideal candidate will have relevant accounting experience and a strong understanding of Accounts Payable functions, vendor database management, and the Purchase-to-Pay process within an ERP system. Your experience in leading and mentoring teams, along with excellent communication and organisational skills, will be key to your success in this role. A strong analytical mindset and the ability to problem-solve effectively will be essential, as will your ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess :
* a demonstrated understanding of vendor database and purchasing card management;
* a demonstrated understanding of the Purchase-to-Pay function using an Enterprise Resource Planning System;
* knowledge of the Financial Management Act, the Treasurer’s Instructions and Australian Accounting Standards;
* relevant experience in an accounts payable environment, including ability to gain proficiency in governance rules, regulations and system processes;
* possession of or progression towards a tertiary qualification and / or substantial experience in a finance role;
* highly developed management and leadership skills and ability to mentor, coach and develop team members.

Currently a 24-month fixed term opportunity available for immediate start with the possibility of extensions to a maximum period of 30 / 04 / 2029.
