Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and expert advice to direct end-to-end program planning and execution, ensuring activities are purpose-driven and deliverables meet stakeholder expectations.
* Manage and mentor a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of project leaders and specialist resources, driving excellence in performance and capability.
* Provide strategic oversight of integrated project delivery across all components, ensuring coordination, avoiding duplication, and mitigating risks.
* Apply rigorous project management methodologies and standards aligned to whole-of-government frameworks, policies and standards, to ensure consistency, quality, and transparency across all deliverables.
* Monitor program / project progress, performance, and reporting to ensure timely delivery within budget, quality and scope tolerances.
* Ensure project outcomes are achieved and project management capability is maintained within the Division by leading, defining and monitoring strategies.
* Resolve complex technical and operational challenges, managing risks and fostering innovation in ICT and IM delivery.
About you
* Strong understanding of, or capacity to quickly learn, Queensland Health's IM/ICT frameworks—including strategies, architecture, project methodologies, and reporting systems—and their influence on health service delivery across the state.
* Demonstrated leadership in directing and supporting diverse project teams, coupled with extensive experience overseeing major program budgets to deliver enterprise solutions that are customer-focused, sustainable, and scalable within complex environments—ideally in the health sector.
* Proven expertise in managing programs across all life cycle phases, delivering outcomes that align with strategic goals in large, complex service delivery environments.
* Proven ability to lead and mentor multi-disciplinary program and project teams.
* High level negotiation, consultation, facilitation and written and oral communication skills for use in a complex project environment.
* Ability to work in a team environment and develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
