As a substation design engineer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and finalizing detailed designs of new, upgraded, and expanded substations. This involves procurement, construction, and commissioning/startup support through energization. You will work under the oversight and mentorship of a project engineer to execute best-in-class projects, including coordination, quality control, and oversight of designers, drafters, and support staff.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Creating and delivering comprehensive physical, electrical, civil, and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits, and specifications
* Assisting in the execution of projects, including coordination, quality control, and oversight of designers, drafters, and support staff
* Collaborating with subject matter expert discipline groups on specialized tasks such as Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection (relay coordination and settings), Civil Engineering, Communication (SCADA Integration), and Transmission & Distribution Engineering

* Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
* Design engineering experience is highly valued
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Strong organization and planning skills
* Able to work in a team environment
* Commitment to quality and accuracy
* Willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
* Fundamental knowledge of power engineering principles and applicable codes and standards
