About the role
This is a senior, hands‐on leadership role within a Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), where you will take ownership of threat detection, response and containment across a large and distributed environment.
You will act as the escalation point for major cyber incidents, leading response efforts in real time while mentoring analysts and influencing how the organisation evolves its cyber defence capability.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate cyber incident response activities, including acting as the escalation point for high‐severity and complex incidents
* Drive continuous improvement of threat detection and response processes, tools and playbooks
* Provide leadership and mentoring to analysts, fostering a high‐performing and collaborative CSOC environment
* Investigate, analyse and respond to security events across networks, systems and applications
* Partner with threat intelligence, cyber investigations and broader security teams to ensure effective end‐to‐end response capability
Knowledge & Skills
* Strong experience in cyber security operations, incident response and threat detection within complex environments
* Hands‐on expertise with SIEM platforms (e.g. Splunk) and threat hunting techniques
* Deep understanding of cyber attack frameworks (e.g. MITRE ATT&CK), threat actors and modern attack vectors
* Experience working within established security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 27001, NIST, CIS)
* Proven ability to lead and mentor teams while remaining technically hands‐on
