Bidgerdii Community Health Services is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service, operating in the Rockhampton and wider Central Queensland region for more than 30 years and our vision is for Healthy and Strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, children, families and communities – self-determining, culturally strong, and thriving in their own way. The name 'Bidgerdii' means 'healing plant' – the bark of the plant was used for tobacco, and the leaves for healing sores and rashes.
Bidgerdii provides comprehensive primary healthcare and wellbeing services, collaborates with partner agencies for integrated continuity of care and advocates for health policy and health system reform. Our services include general practice bulk-billing clinics, social and emotional wellbeing and generalist counselling services, chronic disease management, preventative health screening, children and family health and early childhood education services.

About the Role:
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Clinic Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the three (3) Bidgerdii Clinics, located in Rockhampton, Mt Morgan and Blackwater. Rostered attendance at these clinics will form part of the role, as such the incumbent must be physically able to travel as required.
The scope of the position includes business planning, administration, financial management, leadership, and oversight of health service quality and safety, in line with the approved Model of Care. Guidance and support will be provided as necessary by the external Clinical Operations Manager.
The Clinic Manager is responsible for:
· Optimising extended service access, enhancing the quality and scope of care, and reforming the efficiency and financial self-sustainability of the Clinics
· Implementation of the approved Model of Care focusing on closing the gap through effective chronic disease management and service delivery
· The overall management of the delivery of efficient and effective comprehensive primary health care services across the designated clinics.
About You:
You a compassionate, optimistic individual wanting to make a difference in people's lives especially our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and also have the following:
· At least 3 years' experience in practice/clinical management, demonstrating a sound professional background.
· A relevant degree/diploma in Business, Diploma of Practice Management or Nursing Degree and current Queensland Nursing Registration or relevant medical tertiary qualifications.
· Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing a multidisciplinary clinical team.
· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people.
· A demonstrated understanding of the unique issues affecting and impacting on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people.
· Experience, skills and knowledge working in a multidisciplinary team, including teamwork and
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Demonstrated organisational and time management skills along with an ability to adapt to changing needs.
· Sound working knowledge of computer software packages, including Best Practice.
· A leadership style that develops, coaches and empowers employees, with a focus on accountability, initiative, service improvement and community satisfaction.
· Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the principles of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector and demonstrated history of working with Aboriginal People.
Practical Requirements:
· Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A and Pertussis (whooping cough) during their employment.
· Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
· Current Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card
· Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD) – essential.
· Satisfactory Police Criminal History Check.
