Bechtel are seeking experienced Sheet Metal to join the Pluto Train 2 Project in Karratha.

Project Overview:
The Pluto Train 2 project, managed by Woodside Energy, is an expansion of the existing Pluto LNG facility near Karratha, Western Australia. This ambitious project will increase processing capacity for Scarborough gas, boosting LNG production to approximately 5 million tonnes per annum, and expand domestic gas capacity to 225 terajoules per day. Bechtel has been selected to oversee the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) for this significant project, helping to meet the rising global demand for LNG.

* $5.40 per hour site allowance
* $175 per week project incentive payment (PIP)
* Severance payment of 2x base hourly rate per week

Skills & Experience
* A nationally accredited qualification, Certificate III in Fabrication (Sheetmetal Working) or equivalent.
* Minimum 3 to 5 years of Major Construction/Project experience, preferably in an LNG environment.
* Construction Induction Safety certificate (White Card)
* Confined space trained or willing to obtain
* Working at heights trained or willing to obtain
* Comfortable working in the hot and physically demanding environment of the Pilbara region
* Able to climb stairs, work at heights on ladders, steps and scaffolds
* Prior knowledge of maintaining and operating pneumatic/ battery tools and equipment safely
* Understanding of FIFO and FIFO related role requirements
* Understanding of PTW, JHA systems including self-completion of relevant safety paperwork.
Tasks & responsibilities
* Competent in carrying out daily tasks fabricating and installing sheet metal components in both Field and Workshop environments.
* Competent in understanding fabrication methods
* Willing to support fitting and shaping insulation materials within specification requirements to both pipe work and equipment as required by site supervision.
* Competent in technical understanding with the ability to interpret drawings and measure accurately.
* Competent in carrying out daily take using hand tools and fabrication equipment.
* Ensured adherence to all site and safety requirements
* Carry out additional labouring and ad hoc industrial service duties when required by site supervision
Additional Information
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site. Mobile phones and other personal electronic devices – i.e. wireless headphones, iPads, smart watches - are also not permitted on site.
