Mechanical Fitters Job Overview
We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our maintenance crew at the Goonyella Riverside Mine. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of heavy mining equipment and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections on fixed and mobile plant equipment.
* Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance in accordance with site procedures and schedules.
* Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
* Record accurate maintenance activities using CMMS systems.
* Collaborate with other trades and production teams to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
About You:
* Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter (Cert III Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent).
* Experience in a coal mining or heavy industrial environment.
* Proficient in fault-finding and troubleshooting large fixed plant and mobile equipment.
* Familiarity with maintenance procedures for conveyor systems, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and bearings.
* Coal board medical and Standard 11 certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Strong safety focus and proactive approach to risk management.
