Our Infrastructure Asset Management department are looking for a motivated Stormwater Drainage Engineer to take the lead in managing and maintaining Council's existing drainage infrastructure assets.
You will play a critical part in preserving the health and functionality of our stormwater systems, ensuring they support the needs of our growing city.
You will be responsible for planning and developing the stormwater program of works, maintaining detailed asset registers and conducting asset modelling. Your work will directly inform the ongoing planning, assessment, and repair of our new and existing stormwater drainage assets.
This role requires a proactive, solutions-focused professional who can provide expert technical advice, support decision-making, and ensure assets are safe, efficient, and aligned with community needs.

Your key focus areas are.
* Develop a long-term Capital Works Program for stormwater drainage works that reflect the Council's strategic objectives
* Undertake stormwater drainage assessments, based on existing drainage infrastructure (including current condition), and determine future requirements through catchment analysis, and existing studies
* Provide accurate and timely technical advice on a wide range of engineering issues, primarily in stormwater management
* Develop and maintain asset management and planning documents, including Asset Management Plans, Maintenance Plans, Risk Management Plans and Service Level Agreements, which relate to Council Infrastructure assets
* Manage and update Council's drainage Asset Management System, to optimise treatments, minimise life cycle costs, and extend existing asset life
* Determine a program of work, including investigations and project feasibility assessments, administer and manage contracts, and design and estimate works

What you will bring.
* Degree in Civil Engineering
* Demonstrated experience as an Engineer primarily investigating, assessing and recommending solutions for civil infrastructure matters, related to stormwater drainage works
* Experience in the programming of asset renewal works, for stormwater and drainage infrastructure assets
* Demonstrable experience in the preparation of project briefs, to scope minor and major capital and asset renewal projects for stormwater drainage assets
* High level interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of people
* Demonstrable understanding of Asset and Risk Management Principles
