**The Company**
This company are one of the largest steel tubular suppliers in the Oceania region, providing an exclusive and fully comprehensive supply chain concept, designed to prioritize customer needs.
**The Role**
The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for managing throughout the field facilities, managing the safety and ensuring compliancy and contractual obligations are met.
**Accountabilities and responsibilities include**:
- Ensuring that equipment is maintained so that it is suitable for safe working operations.
- Leading day to day facilities management for field-based locations including maintenance, performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Actively participating in continual improvement by identifying, analysing, and implementing cost effective innovative solutions to the benefit of the business.
- Overseeing the training of field personnel including new recruits and staff development.
- Managing asset planning and budget preparationfor resource alignment and optimisation of performance.
- Overseeing activity in the yard, including, but not limited to, stock maintenance, storage, inspection, and accurate accounting of inventory stock levels.
- Regularly reporting to management on activities, progress and areas for development and improvement.
- Actively seeking and presenting opportunities for improvement and development with the aim to continually improve operations in the yards.
- Yard teams are meeting and exceeding expectations of compliance, safety, and efficiency.
- Implementing standardised practices to ensure all field-based facilities operate at a high level with regards to quality, output, and alignment of resources.
- Reviewing and assessing existing guidelines and procedures, implementing improvements and updates to exceed requirements across all yard operations.
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regularly to ensure alignment of contractual obligations and performance.
- Identify OHS hazards and risks & conduct daily toolbox meetings
- Ensure the safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors to the site
- Conducting probation and performance reviews on time and with appropriate detail/consideration.
- Taking ownership of direct reports throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring they are set up for success, that they receive business communications in a timely manner and that any changes to their employment are communicated and administered appropriately and professionally.
- Holding direct reports accountable to the expectations of their role, identifying skill gaps and providing honest feedback, development and coaching to build capability.
- Managing the workflow of the Yards team to ensure delivery on departmental and wider Company goals.
- Actively promoting a positive culture.
- Lead and motivate employees to work to the best of their ability as part of the team through open communications, regular meetings, coaching, attention to their needs, recognition and rewards for their individual contributions and collective accomplishments
**Your skills and experience**:
- 10 years of Operations, Facilities or Logistics Management experience or equivalent tertiary qualification(s).
- Extensive experience in driving continuous improvement
- Sound ability to influence change
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in or understanding of the Oil & Gas industry.
