Swietelsky Rail Australia (SRA) is a leading railway infrastructure maintenance company specialising in the use of mechanised plant and track machines to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of rail networks. We operate and maintain a variety of Plasser & Theurer track machines and other rail plant including Ballast Cleaners, Material Handling Wagons, Tampers, Regulators and Flash Butt Welding Machines. We are currently seeking an experienced Trade Based Operator/Maintainer (Mechanical) to join our plant maintenance team.
The Plant Operators and Maintainers duties may include:
* Repairing, calibration and operation of a variety of Plasser and Theurer On Track Machine (OTMs)
* Have a good understanding of general hydraulics, pneumatics, electrics and control systems
* Be able to navigate and read simple hydraulic and electrical schematics
* Carry out regular preventative & corrective maintenance, repairs and major overhaul works to ensure maximum equipment availability
* Perform tasks safely in accordance Swietelsky and the WH&S Act requirements
* Work effectively and efficiently on major maintenance and construction projects
* Work independently and as part of a team in both operations and maintenance activities
About you:
* Mechanical or Electrical trade base
* Be willing and able to adapt and learn new skills to keep up with evolving technologies and procedures
* Strong commitment to safety & Zero Harm
* Good communication skills
* Valid Drivers Licence
* Ability to work cohesively in a small team
* Ability to work weekends and nights if required
* Ability to travel/work away from home when required
* Ability to pass pre-employment checks including CAT1 rail medical is a must
Additional information
The position will be based out of our Telarah office with travel required for projects, predominantly within the Hunter Valley ARTC rail network and other areas across regional NSW area and interstate as necessary.
The position will be subject to SRA employment conditions and supporting conditions in accordance with the Rail Industry Award.
