The Transport Manager role is a pivotal position within our organisation, requiring exceptional leadership skills and expertise in logistics management.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and mitigate risks to ensure seamless logistics delivery.
* Source external freight carriers that meet safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory standards.
* Implement efficient processes and controls for Allocators, Drivers, and Dispatch Staff to enhance customer service and communication.
* Manage the transport team to achieve business goals, overseeing workload and staffing needs to meet production targets.
* Develop and lead team members, leveraging operating systems and communication tools to drive performance.
* Analyse service issues and implement changes to enhance service quality.
* Organise daily work orders and staffing needs to meet production targets.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, vehicle, and license requirements.
* Manage third-party logistics providers to ensure cost-effectiveness, budget control, and service excellence.
* Focus on improving KPIs to enhance efficiency, lower operating costs, and increase profit margins.
* Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring best-in-class customer service.
* Strategically plan driver resources and manage administrative processes.
* Ensure fleet operations comply with legislative requirements.
* Maintain close interaction with the customer service department to ensure service delivery standards are met.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate and optimise logistics solutions.
Requirements
* A minimum of seven years of prior management experience in transport and logistics.
* A diploma or degree in transport logistics is desirable.
* Exceptional team management and leadership skills.
* Solid knowledge of supply chain management.
* High level of computer literacy.
* Experienced in utilising industry-focused track and trace software/system package.
* High level of attention to detail.
* Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
