Commencing asap Picton Location Monday to Friday 8.00am-4.30pm $44.44 per hour inclusive of casual loading (Manufacturing Award Level C3V12) Must have experience in food or consumable testing We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to perform site analytical testing and calibration to meet production, product release and product development requirements. You will be required to assist in maintenance of the Quality Management and HACCP system, and preparation and successful outcome of all regulatory, customer, BRC or other third party audits and standards. Key Accountabilities: Monitor site activities though sampling, assessment, testing and analysis to ensure that raw materials, water, intermediate products, finished products, environment, and equipment comply with Allied Pinnacle, BRC, WOA and major customer standards and requirements. Perform the day to day activities of the site testing laboratory and test bakery to meet production and product release Conduct chemical and physical analyses and evaluations on grain / flour / premixes to ensure compliance Perform test bakes of finished products, assess against specification and conduct sensory assessments as per laboratory Interpret finished product quality and relate to ingredients and baking processes. Keep up to date and accurate records of all tests Ensure that samples are sent to external laboratories as required and manage the return of Check results are within AM specifications. Use finished product release systems to ensure timely availability of finished products to the supply chain, and only products that meet specifications are Ensure that Certificates of Analysis are accurate and available to customers as required. Where test results indicate that product is out of specification identify and isolate all non-conforming product and report to the site Quality Raise corrective actions reports where Complete routine basic maintenance and calibration of laboratory Participation in the inter-laboratory proficiency program, ensuring testing proficiency is in line with expectations and developing and implementing corrective actions where deficiencies are Ensure that retained samples are taken at the required frequency, stored appropriately, and assessed at the end of shelf Ensure that a clean, hygienic, safe and functional work environment is maintained in the laboratory and test bakery at all times Perform incoming raw material (ingredients / packaging) assessment on delivery in line with specifications, and monitor and report on supplier compliance and non-conformance Food Safety and GMP: Promote and adhere to Quality, GMP, HACCP, and food safety guidelines, policies and procedures. Report process performance deviations and out of specification results wherever they occur in site processes to the site Quality Manager as soon as practicable. Assist in the investigation of process deviations, out of specification results, non-conforming product, food safety & quality incidents, and complaints and in the compilation of investigation reports and customer and consumer responses. Contribute to the compilation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for internal communication and customers. Participate in the development and maintenance of on site testing Assist in the ongoing maintenance of the site Quality Management and HACCP system. Assist in site Manufacturing Standard Complete internal Quality Management and HACCP system Assist in Quality Management and HACCP systems Assist in the provision of training in Quality Management and HACCP Work with other on-site and off-site departments on matters relating to quality and food safety. Skills and Qualifications: Tertiary / TAFE qualification in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cereal Chemistry, Food Technology or other related science HACCP / Food Safety Qualifications (desirable) Auditing Qualifications (desirable)Minimum 3 years in a Food Manufacturing / Cereal Chemistry laboratory environment Proficiency in laboratory analytical equipment, methods and Knowledge of Manufacturing Standards (GMP) and Standard Operating Experience with Food Safety and Experience in the use of SAP and LIMS is preferred.
