Our program management (PgM) team delivers structured, outcome-focused projects that generate social, economic, and environmental value. Leveraging our multi-disciplinary expertise and deep industry knowledge, we partner with public and private asset owners to manage critical programs and projects across buildings, water, defence, transport, clean energy, and disaster recovery. Our team comprises diverse project managers, contract administrators, advisory specialists, cost controllers, project planners and administrators, all focussed on delivering the best value and outcomes for our clients.
Job Description We are looking for a Senior or Principal level Project Manager to work on a diverse range of projects across our Water programs.
How you’ll make a difference
Autonomously manage, plan and deliver a range of projects for Government and other key clients across Queensland varying in size, scope and complexity.
Guide and oversee the establishment of the project governance structure (budget, scope and schedule) and manage project commercial performance including accurate and timely invoicing, variation management and cash collection.
Engage with internal stakeholders, clients, contractors and industry stakeholders to facilitate technical discussions, align project objectives, and promote AECOM’s client‑centric culture while ensuring stakeholder expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare and execute Project Plans during Opportunity and Contracted Phases including scope & approach, engineering, deliverables management, resources, procurement, budget, scheduling, change management, reporting and project closeout.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in project management, construction management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field with eligibility for Professional Memberships and appropriate industry certification e.g. Certified Practising Project Manager (CPPM) accreditation under AIPM Qualified Competency Standards.
Ideally, at least 10 years of client‑side project management experience, preferably within an engineering consultancy or government agency, delivering construction or infrastructure projects such as transportation, buildings, capital works, or water programs.
Proven experience in maintaining relationships at senior levels within client organisations to establish visibility of pipeline and influence current and future opportunities including supporting the preparation of tender submissions and proposals to help secure a robust pipeline of future work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated commitment to mentoring and developing our cohort of junior professionals.
