Farm Staff
Seymour Park is looking for a Senior Stud hand to join their progressive and energetic team.
This is a senior role on the farm where you will be supporting the Stud, Spelling and Broodmare managers at Seymour Park.
We are looking for an experienced horse person who will enjoy providing outstanding care to our horses.
You will have support from a dedicated and passionate team to help achieve all facets of this challenging and exciting role.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Handling mares, foals and weanlings, yearlings and spelling racehorses.
· Assisting vets, farriers and other industry professionals as required.
· Conducting feed runs & cleaning barns.
· Administering treatments and basic wound care.
· Assisting with the foal handling and weaning.
· Transporting Mares and Foals to cover & Breakers to trainers.
Experience essential minimum 3 years in a similar role, further training can be provided for the right candidate.
Essential skills:
· Current Australian driver's licence.
· High level of horse husbandry skills and experience.
· Prior experience in general horse care and stud farm duties.
· Ability to work independently and also be willing to mentor and train junior/seasonal staff members.
· Enthusiasm to broaden your skills.
Seymour Park offers a balanced work/life roster. Role and remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
