Role: Endpoint & Workspace Management Engineer/ Workplace Lead (SME)

Location: Newcastle, NSW Sydney

Experience: 5 – 10 years

Work Arrangement: 3 days a week work from office in Newcastle location.

Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Endpoint Management Systems Engineer (SCCM and Intune SME) to design, deploy, configure, maintain, and support the organization's endpoint management infrastructure. This role involves leveraging tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Microsoft Intune to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant operation of all desktop and mobile devices across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tool Administration

2. Administer and maintain endpoint management solutions, primarily SCCM and Intune.

3. Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of endpoint management platforms.

4. Software Deployment & Packaging

5. Package, test, and deploy software applications and updates across the organization.

6. Ensure compatibility, reliability, and compliance with licensing and security policies.

7. Patch Management

8. Schedule and monitor timely deployment of OS and third-party patches.

9. Maintain compliance and security posture across all endpoints.

10. Operating System Deployment (OSD) & Imaging

11. Develop and maintain standardized desktop images and task sequences using SCCM (and MDT/WDS if required).

12. Perform OS deployments for Windows devices across enterprise environments.

13. Incident & Problem Resolution

14. Provide Level 2/3 technical support for endpoint-related incidents and service requests.

15. Troubleshoot complex issues within agreed SLAs.

16. Monitoring & Reporting

17. Monitor system health, performance, and compliance status.

18. Generate reports on deployment success, patching status, and asset inventory.

19. Scripting & Automation

20. Utilize PowerShell and other scripting languages to automate routine tasks.

21. Improve operational efficiency through automation of deployments and configurations.

22. Documentation & Collaboration

23. Maintain comprehensive documentation of configurations, processes, and SOPs.

24. Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams (security, networking, service desk).

25. Security & Compliance

26. Ensure endpoint configurations adhere to internal IT policies and regulatory standards.

27. Integrate antivirus and baseline security configurations across managed devices.

Required Skills:

* Strong expertise in Microsoft SCCM and Microsoft Intune.
* Experience with OS deployment, patch management, and software packaging.
* Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation.
* Knowledge of compliance frameworks and security best practices.
* Familiarity with additional endpoint management tools (Nanoheal, IBM BigFix, ManageEngine, Zenworks) is a plus.
